Hurricane Sent By God to Smite Florida!

Secret Religious Right Political Meeting In South Interrupted by Message From God

[Editor's Note: August 19, 2004. This is an unverified story, but it's worth reading anyway because it contains spiritual truths. Second Editor's note added September 4, 2004: Hurricane Charlie has been followed by Hurricane Frances and a third hurricane appears to be lurking in the background. We have received many questions concerning the prophecy below. We believe that it is possible churches and churchgoers in Florida and the U.S.A. have contributed to the political atmosphere of hate, fear, violence, war and greed that seems to be driving our beloved nation to the use of more and more violence, fear and greed. These "fruits" are not the fruit of God's spirit. Although parts of this prophecy are shocking and disturbing, we believe that the American churches would do well to take the prophecy as a warning from God that judgment sits over America. For the churches have allowed themselves to become political pawns, advocating the re-election of a president who proclaims himself the leader most fit to fight terrorism and fear while drumming up the imagery of terrorism and fear. In the words of St. Paul, (Titus 1:16) the churches who support these efforts can be described this way: "They profess that they know God, but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." We think it wise to believe the prophecy within this article is essentially true, for it calls for repentance. Therefore the hurricanes represent a warning for this nation that we ought to heed.]

August 15, 2004, Tupelo, Miss.

A Pentecostal minister reported this afternoon [August 18, 2004] that in a secret meeting of fundamentalist, evangelical and Pentecostal ministers held in the south on Sunday to discuss strategy for the coming elections, spontaneous prayer broke out and one of the ministers spoke in tongues for twenty minutes. Apparently no one in the meeting could translate the message. And those who weren’t Pentecostal threatened to leave the meeting.

Then, according to an eye witness, the Reverend Eudora L. Spoonworthy, pastor of the Apostolic Temple, (Pentecostal Worship House) of Tupelo, Mississipi got to her feet and gave the following report. (However, the Pentecostal minister was not able to verify the location of the minister’s church.)

The Rev. Spoonworthy said, “I was in my garden early this morning, while the dew was still on the roses.” She paused for a loud round of “Amens.” She continued, “When I heard God Almighty speaking to me and He said that Hurricane Charlie was no accident! He said it hit Florida as a direct result of Floridians failing to stop the election fraud in the presidential election of 2,000.”

According to the minister’s report, Spoonworthy said, “God identified himself as the Great I Am, the Almighty, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.”  She said her knees gave way, “And I fell down and hid my face like a scared ostrich!”

Spoonworthy continued her recitation claiming that God said, “Because my people, who are called by my name in the state of Florida failed to throw out Kathyrn Harris and Jeb Bush when they had a chance, and because they’ve failed to oppose these new fangled, fraud-prone, jiggled and rigged voting machines, I, the Lord, sent this hurricane as a warning to Florida and to the entire United States of America.”

God went on, “If those who are called by my name allow that sadistic little liar in the White House to win this election in Florida again, I’ll show that state and this nation what tribulation, calamity and pain is all about!”

Spoonworthy, who said she was a Republican until her encounter in the garden that morning, proclaimed that every Christian in the U. S. of A. had better humble themselves according to II Chronicles 7:14. “Not only that,” she said, “Christians have got to vote Democratic across the board, else all hell is going to be let loose on America!”

Spoonworthy asked everyone just to call her “Sister Eudora.” She said, “I’ve been walking this walk with God for years and years, and God is getting closer! Did you hear me folks? God is getting closer! I’ve been in my garden in the early hours, and the voice I hear, falling on my ear lingers on and the Son of God discloses!”

The audience began to shout and praise God and others wept!  Spoonworthy said, “America is at a crossroads and God says to His people called by His name to get out of the Republican Party—it’s in Babylon! And Babylon’s no place for a man of God!” Amens were heard all over the room. She said, “The Republican party has hijacked the churches and betrayed Jesus and is nailing Him to the cross all over again! And the blood of the lamb is being spilt by these walking sepulchers who are dead men’s bones!”

She shouted, “Come out of her my people!”

The whole room erupted with shouts and grown men fell on their faces before God and were weeping. Spoonworthy went on: “Be ye separate! The churches have turned their backs on Jesus and on the poor and the needy and the naked and the sick and the old folks. The churches have turned their backs to people of color! The Republicans want to destroy Social Security and they have made Medicare so costly that no one can afford medicine. They have spit on America’s loving kindness and caring and mercy for its people and the nations! They have made a mockery of the name of Jesus and the Gospels!

“Instead of clothing the naked,” Spoonworthy said, “the churches are supporting usury, avarice, greed, arrogance, lies, torture, imprisonment without trial, fear, and approve stealing from the poor and the middle class to help the rich and the wicked! The churches are supporting de-regulation of safety rules so that workers are dying all over America! The churches are guilty of supporting legislation that destroys the Constitution of this great land of ours. And the churches are supporting war against a people who have done nothing to us! Since when are those things the fruit of God’s spirit?”

A source reported that one minister stood up and interrupted, "The scripture says there will be wars and rumors of wars!" Spoonworthy retorted, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus! There may be wars and rumors of war, but where in the scriptures does it say that Christians should go out and start a war?"

Another minister jumped to his feet, "What about abortion? God doesn't want little babies to be killed either!"

Spoonworthy answered, "You are an ignorant man who does not know the scriptures. A woman who sloughs off her egg each month is considered unclean in the scriptures when she bleeds and a woman who has had a miscarriage in the scriptures is also unclean, and so is the fetus that is miscarried! And never in the history of the Bible or in the history of the church has a funeral been held for a miscarried fetus! The churches are guilty of grave hypocrisy! You strain at a gnat and swallow a camel!"

She warned, “Woe to the nation that makes the anti-Christ God! Woe to the nation that goes to Babylon for oil. Know you not that 9/11 happened because the wicked of the PNAC group were praying for a second Pearl Harbor?” She said, “Beloved God is not mocked, God says that if these men so much as looked at Pearl Harbor and desired what happened there to happen again—they committed murder in their hearts saith the Lord!”

Spoonworthy then quoted God again, “Woe to the people who vote for the prostitutes, the whores and the harlots of the Republican Party who have enticed the churches—the Assemblies, the Four Square, the United Pentecostals, the Southern Baptists and the Evangelicals and the Calvinists—and caused the churches to spread their legs and commit the abominations of wickedness with the evil and the liars!”

“Repent!” She shouted. And the minister who submitted this report claimed “I tell you, the earth quaked beneath us.”

Afterward, a source reported, “We all agreed to quietly spread the message by word of mouth, over the web and from church to church.” The source said, “People were saying how ashamed they felt. And they were asking, “How could we have been so blind?”
