Arnold,
A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing?
The following eight pages are
photo copies of the complaint filed against the Governor of the
State of California. If the allegations are true, the complaint
represents an indictment of the Schwarzenegger administration.
The pages of the complaint reveal the extent to which a group
of individuals would go in order to obtain high office in America.
It represents the willingness to lie, betray, and to do violence
to an innocent human being. It represents a degradation of democracy
in America. It reveals an attitude that is becoming prevalent
in the Republican party: win at any cost! It borders on the criminal
and in fact takes on all the accouterments of criminality.
Democracy is dependent upon the
exercise of truth and honor among those with differing points
of view. The character of candidates must be examined by the
public in order to prevent the kind of tactics the complaint
reveals.
While the judicial steps are
taken and each side presents its case, Americans must wait, but
they must not close their eyes to the possibility that if proven,
a man sits in high office who ought not to be holding that office.
The Yurica Report has already
revealed that Mr. Schwarzenegger has not kept faith with the
people who voted for him. While it is true that his position
of making it extremely difficult for injured workers to obtain
compensation was publicized on his web site in his "Agenda,"
Mr. Schwarzenegger failed to answer direct questions from the
press during his campaign. Had he revealed the truth about his
position against workers in California and other issues to the
press, he would not have been elected.
His every step has been an act
of deception. In the early Christian church, the spiritual leaders
of the new religion decreed in their writings that an "actor"
could not retain his profession and still be considered a "Christian."
Why? Because the root word for actor comes from the Greek
word hypokrites, which means: "actor on the stage,
pretender, hypocrite." Webster's Third New International
Dictionary defines "hypocrite" as "one who
pretends to be what he is not or to have principles or beliefs
that he does not have; esp: one who falsely assumes an appearance
of virtue or religion." This complaint should alert Californians
to the possibility that they have elected a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Page eight of the complaint is
an alleged exhibit reproduction of the email that was sent by
Mr. Schwarzenegger and his staff to the news media referencing
a "Rhonda Miller" and not the Rhonda Miller whom Mr.
Schwarzenegger knew and worked with for two years. As a tool
in the hands of the unscrupulous, the email gives the delusion
of apparent normality that rises to nothing more than a sincere
communication to the press, yet it is a piece of treachery, deception
and cruelty that goes beyond normal human exchange; it takes
on the poisonous attributes of a Jim Jones; or in fiction, J.K.
Rowling's Lord Voldemort (from the Harry Potter series)
or Richard Adam's General Woundwort (from Watership Down).
The email appears on the surface
to be a missile and as such should be looked upon as an object
of power that is straining to crush a threat to the throne of
political authority. In this case the threat to Arnold was an
innocent woman who bravely spoke out to reveal his prior alleged
sexual predatory acts. She was one of sixteen brave women that
came forward following the Los Angeles Times publication
of the article revealing what Mr. Schwarzenegger later admitted
was true in a press conference. Clearly there must be an investigation
into the Governor's prior conduct. Democracy cannot survive when
citizens allow criminal behavior to go unanswered. On the other
hand, what governor would wish to go forward with the great cloud
of suspicion hanging over his administration?

about
this editorial
Whenever a book is mentioned
in an article or editorial here at the Yurica Report, we place
the book icon at the top of the page. In the case of the two
books (or actually in J.K. Rowling's case--her Harry Potter
series of books) and Richard Adams' Watership Down, it
has been our intention to write reviews on them. We just haven't
had the time yet. These two fictional works not only represent
the human battle of good versus evil, they teach us what true
leadership is. We believe that Richard Adams has authored the
greatest book on leadership ever written. How rabbits can morph
into human skins is a mystery of creativity. But Hazel, an ordinary
and humble rabbit shows what greatness is all about; he grows
into his leadership role by recognizing the talents of those
around him, and encouraging the growth of those talents and creativity
as an essential element of the society he builds. Hazel's model
is juxtaposed by Adams to the leadership style and to the society
built by General Woundwort. Woundwort's world is fascist and
repressive, and a prison like world.
It seems to us Americans are
standing in a cross-roads. We are being offered two types of
societies. One is based on liberality of kindness, opportunities,
and care for our people and the people of the world. The other
is based on a culture of greed, hatred and selfishness.
As a people we have to choose
which world we want to live in. Somehow, America has become unbalanced
emotionally and intellectually dishonest. While we are not saying
that one party has all the virtues and the other all the lawless
infirmities, we are saying that power for the sake of power is
a disease among the militant minority and that militant group
is leading America as assuredly as Jim Jones led his followers
to a disasterous end. Woundwort makes the same mistakes that
Jim Jones made--only Jim Jones actually existed. In the end General
Woundwort, like Jim Jones, destroys the society and culture he
labored to maintain. Similarly Voldemort leads by intimidation,
bullying tactics and sheer power to get and keep his followers
in line. Although Rowling has not yet finished the series, her
latest book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
reminds one again and again of the current political power elite
in the U.S. today.
What can we do about it? We can
read and learn. Talk with our friends. And we can become involved
in the political life of America. We can say "No" to
bullying tactics like Rhonda Miller is doing. We can say to politicians
who violate the trust placed in them by the citizenry--get out
of office before we vote you out!
